Office Flowers – 4/30/2011

This week’s office flowers are more tulips (they’re in season so I like to enjoy them while they are) and two stems of yellow lilies (also in season). I found myself fascinated by the stamen and pistils of the lilies and did some macro photography of them. More close-ups after the cut.

Easter Flowers

We were having an Easter brunch at my sister-in-law’s house and she’d planted lovely Gerbera Daisies in her outdoor planters. There was still a light drizzle but I liked how it looked on the flowers. A lot more photos after the cut.

Salmonberry and Raspberry Blooms

The salmonberry and raspberry (I think) plants around the house are starting to wake up and seriously bloom. Not moving too fast, though, since it’s still pretty chilly and wet, but there are buds opening up all over. Today I managed to snap a few closeups in the ten minutes or so between rainshowers. A Sign of Spring

Buttercups! I know they are weeds but they were so wonderfully green and their cheerful yellow flower buds just opening. And, yes, I happen to like dandelions, too! The rowan (or hawthorne, there seems to be differing opinions) is also budding out. Even the salmonberry bushes are starting to flower.
